Trainee Stockbroker


JOB PURPOSE
 
The position involves the marketing of SVS Securities to interested investors via the telephone. The Employee will be required to work within the rules, regulations and restrictions as set by the Financial Conduct Authority at all times. The Employee will remain an Account Executive and operate under the close supervision of the Broking Floor Supervisor/Manager for a minimum of six months.
 
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
  • Marketing SVS Securities to potential customers via the telephone, opening up potential leads
  • Assisting prospective clients through the account opening process
  • Ensuring outstanding customer service
  • Communicating effectively with other staff in the firm
  • The achievement of new customer targets as set by the company.
  • A good knowledge of the Firm’s systems and the maintenance of appropriate contact records and notes
  • A thorough understanding of the Firm’s policies and procedures
  • A thorough understanding of FCA regulation
  • Gaining a thorough knowledge of the market and the products
  • Ensuring personal development within the profession by taking and passing exams for further development
  • The Employee will be required to read, as often as is reasonably necessary, and to comply with the Companies compliance manual and money-laundering procedures at all times.
Compliance Duties
 
  • Understanding of  Account Opening – Due Diligence, AML & KYC Checks;
  • Keeping records and CRM up to date;
  • Adherence to internal policies and procedures;
  • Understanding and adherence to regulation;
  • Upholding the ethics of Treating Customers Fairly
  • Reporting to the Compliance team any suspicious transactions;
  • Ensuring personal CPD
 
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • An interest in the markets
  • A good understanding of SVS and its products
  • Good current knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Experience in sales
  • Experience of customer services
  • A desire to want to develop
  • Continued Fitness and Propriety and proven adherence to the Principles
